Who designed this exercise?
This set of Tai Chi forms was designed by a China’s national martial art committee in 1950s as one of the projects of the national fitness movement. It focuses on popularizing Tai Chi practicing among the general public to promote health and fitness with low or no cost. This set of 24 forms is based on Yang style, and has been considered standard simple set for the ordinary people to practice. It is the most popular Tai Chi set practiced by millions of people today around the world. Imagine, once you have learned this set of forms, you will be able to join in the practicing crowd in Beijing’s streets or parks without any trouble.

What is special in this video?
This video presentation was designed and demonstrated by Dr. Chen with over 20 years teaching experiences in a very beginner-friendly manner. To help beginning learners fully understand the forms, each individual form is presented in four angles (front, back, right and left), including separate arm and leg works from easy to follow angles. The detailed verbal cues and explanations are also provided. This video mainly targets at two major obstacles that beginners often encounter when learning from home videos: difficulty of memorizing movements and sequences, and difficulty of following demonstrators when they make turning movements. In this DVD those obstacles are overcome. The whole set demonstrations include two "easy-to-follow" sets with angle adjustments (demonstrator changes demonstration angles) to make it easy for beginners in front of TV to follow through easily without struggling over memory and turning moves. The last part of this DVD includes two original sets (front and back views) for beginners to practice when reaching a comfortable level.
